While we were in California, we got to stay with my cute pregnant sister, Melody, and her husband Matt. David and Matt got to go surfing one morning and it was so fun to watch...pretty cold though!

More from the wedding...

Home Sweet California

Gotta love Trevor
Amber wishes Julia was her baby I am sure! :) (Just like I wish Trevy was mine!)
Don't worry, this isn't everyone...there's still 5 missing!
Getting ready for the wedding...
After party at the beach, isn't Mel's little belly so adorable! Oh man so cute!

Nicole just got married in the San Diego Temple and David got to go at the last minute so we had a weekend of surfing, wedding stuff, swimming, and family! Chair's little kids are so cute and have so much personality and it was so fun to see Mel Mel with her baby belly. Nicole was GORGEOUS on her wedding day and at the reception!

APX Pool Party

When the guys have a really big week, sometimes we get a pool party from APX where the manager throws $500 in quarters in the pool along with $1, $5,$10, and $20 dollar bills rolled up in diving wands and all the guys jump in to get as much as they can. It's so fun to watch. David usually gets $15-20 in quarters which is pretty good for a competition of 30 guys. It's just fun to BBQ and do something different before work for a change. One time they had an underwater swimming contest and David won it by a long shot with 4 pool lengths without air compared to everyone else's 2 or 3!

Phillies Baseball

I have never been to a baseball game quite like this! Oh man, these fans have so much Phillie pride it was crazy! People were rallying and cheering the WHOLE game, and I think about 95% of the entire 45,000 fans in attendance were wearing Phillies shirts, hats, jerseys, etc. It made the game so much fun, I loved it! Good thing I got these sweet shirts at wal-mart the night before. David got a jersey too, but it was way too hot to wear it. We went with friends from our office, Tamara and Dallin, and met our other friends from Provo at the game, Traci, Derrick and little Max. It was so fun to meet up again, Derrick is a technician with a different company in NYC. Poor Max couldn't make it for long, so they had to leave early. It was so stinkin hot though, I have only felt that hot once before out here when a wall of humidity hit me in the face but this time it was drier and just plain hot! I felt like I was in California again. When we got up to leave, we realized all of our clothes were wet on our backside because of the plastic seats we had to sit in. I was wearing sunglasses and look like I have a snowboarding goggle tan, which won't be good for nicole's wedding in four days, but hopefully it will go away.

4th of July!!

We got to go to the BEST place for 4th of July, PHILLY where America was born! We watched the spectacular fireworks show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and there were tons and tons of people there, but I must admit that the Del Mar Fair still beats it! Having spent EVERY 4th of July at the Fair in my 22 3/4 life, other than last year, my heart still goes there when I see fireworks. The philly museum was pretty cool though. They had live concerts on the huge rocky steps, food vendors everywhere, and the facade of the museum changed colors with the fireworks so it was cool. It rained almost the whole time, but we were under a tree since Jordan and Michaela and Dave and Hailey saved us some blanket space, so it wasn't bad. We used our sports blanket (thanks chair and ryan for getting me hooked on these!) as a giant umbrella!

I am APX

So I figured it would probably be a good idea to do a blog about David's job with APX since that is why we're here in the first place! He is selling security systems for APX Alarm door to door, which is difficult. All summer he has been steadily doing well enough for us to stay out here and then BAM, on saturday he had a killer day and got 5 in one day! One was scheduled out for the next week, so it doesn't count on his totals, but wow! I copied the picture above from the company website because he was tied for third in the office for the day out of our whole office of 29 guys! They highlight the guys that are doing well with their picture in the strip at the top. That was so exciting and motivating for us both and we hope the rest fo the summer will be just as good! The other picture on here is the one I took of the whole office for the website. They are jumping on top of the "rocky steps" at the Philadelphia museum and David photoshop in the Rocky statue.

Laura's Visit

David's sister, Laura, came to visit so we got to go to the temple, played with her underwater camera in the pool, and she and I got to go to Longwood Gardens. It's one of the top ten gardens in the Nation I think. Oh and David and I went to the Delaware Museum on Sunday and I got to see one fo my favorite paintings...Marooned by Howard Pyle!!! We hada blast with her. We cooked and shopped for food and cooked some more. What fun!

New York City!!

So a few of us wives got together and went to New York for the day. We visited the famous pizzeria called Grimaldi's, hung out in downpour in Times Square, navigated the subway, saw the temple and strolled through central park but by far the coolest thing was trying to talk the chinamen down in price for some Gucci, Prada, Rolex, and Aqua Di Gio! And yes, I DID walk barefoot in Times Square. I couldn't help it, my feet kept getting trashed by the ankle deep puddles at every intersection!
