End of the Winter Season

Friday Brittany and I went snowboarding for the last time this year. It was really nice, we both cut out of work early and drove up to Sundance for a bit of afternoon snowboarding. It was so warm that we both wore t-shirts and kept taking our gloves off on the lift because our fingers were getting sweaty. Thanks to the Coppertone SPF 30 we were not burned, and no one on the swim team will be suspicious why I wasn't at practice on Friday.

Valentine's Getaway

Ok, so I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore snow pictures, but I totally forgot about this trip and had to put up some pictures! For valentines day/David's birthday this year, we were aching to get away so we decided to stay in a hotel in Park City for a few nights and go snowboarding. I know park city is close to home for us, but it was nice to still be away. We went snowboarding at the Canyons and then were able to relax in a hot tub for a few hours. It was incredible! They had complimentary breakfasts every morning, a parking garage, and a heated pool. We felt like royalty. I am so glad I married my best friend who loves doing what I love. Snowboarding was a blast, but it was freezing, so we were extra bundled and yes, I fell a time or two :). Maybe someday we'll own one of those huge 5,000 square foot cabins scattered on the trails at the Canyons resort so we can ski whenever we want!

Goodbye winter, hello spring!!

Today it was 63* degrees outside and it was glorious! Shorts weather and you could feel heat from the sun, now that's something I haven't felt in a while. Don't get me wrong, we have had a blast snowboarding together, and playing frisbee in the snow on Valentines Day, but we are so excited for some warmer weather. A few things I miss about warm weather are:

-Not being freezing when you get in the car
-Not having to shovel your driveway, then shovel it again an hour later because it has already snowed 3 inches
-Not having to scrape your windshield in the morning, then wait for the defroster to work so the new mist doesn't freeze and make your work pointless.
-Going on walks/bike rides around the neighborhood
-Playing sports like catch and frisbee outside
-Going on an outdoor run
-Going to a baseball game at night under the lights and not needing five blankets
-Not having to worry about your driving abilities or the other drivers in the ice, sleet, and snow
-Barbeques
-Playing at the beach and boogie boarding
-And taking pictures of star trails late at night

Well, I hope you enjoy our last tribute of pictures to the snow, and a welcoming in of the nice weather. Longboarding, here we come!

The Flood...

So we got home from winning my soccer game all pumped up, walked in the side door and heard RUNNING WATER....yep, our wash machine hose broke in the basement and flooded our basement with 3 inches of water. Luckily for us, it stayed on one side that had half cement and half carpet anyways, so it didn't really destroy anything. David, being the handyman that he is, just ripped up the carpet and mats and let them all dry outside then put them back in our basement and it is like nothing happened. I am so glad I married someone handier than me, otherwise we'd be using a ton of duct tape and superglue! Don't worry, David's guitars were safe. :)
