New Haircut and Glasses

So, a few weeks ago Brittany cut my hair, it is just too humid and hot for long hair when I am working all day in the sun. The last time I went to go get a hair cut at a professional salon it was a disaster, and ever since Brit has been my barber of choice. Some of you may not be able to afford the price for one of her haircuts, she charged me $90 for this little buzz. The shades were a gift from Brit from when she went to NYC this last weekend. Very cool.

August 2!!!

So I began reading this popular book and finished it in three days. I am not much of a reader, but I somehow finished books one and two (each like 600 pages) in 9 days!!! It was so fun to read and think about. My sweetheart surprised me with the third book one morning and I engulfed it! I already had a few chapters read by going to Barnes and Noble on occasion, but I finished that book the same day he bought it for me and now here I sit and wait for ANOTHER MONTH for the last and final book. If you have a chance, you should read it! It was very entertaining and fun to let it consume me for a few days and now I get to think about it! If any of you have read it...I vote for Edward!

Ocean City, New Jersey!!

I love this picture!!!It turns out I get a piece of Del Mar afterall, a carnival right on the beach! It was so weird though, to see the sun setting in the wrong place though, it just isn't sunset at the beach when the sun sets behind you as you look out into the ocean! This picture is at sunset.
David and Jordan Spence swam and body surfed while Michaela and I were the camera crew. I didn't want to leave our new camera (thanks mom!) unattended and didn't really want to be sticky all day either so we got some cool shots.
Isn't my husband so handsome!
It was bright and I always cover my eyes with my hands and leave cracks to see through, so David was being funny.
This is the boardwalk, it was so long and so fun!Okay so this was totally my favorite thing we've done thus far!!! The New Jersey beaches are so much fun! They charge $5 per person to get on the beach plus parking, but we didn't have to pay to go on the beach because we got there a little late. The water is much colder, but the sand is the same and it has a boardwalk that was so cool too. It goes for miles and they have shops and rides and miniature golf, etc, so we ate pizza on the boardwalk and spent some time on the beach. We will be going back here for sure!!

Chadds Ford

This beautiful place is where we live! Maybe later I'll include some pics of our apartment and such. It is green and lush like this everywhere! And david is so patient to go drive around with me in the mornings to find beautiful things to paint. I got a little moss on my shorts and was so mad, just because I leaned against a fence. There is green moss/mold on everything! And I thought Hawaii was wet, our bagels get moldy in five days!

More Philly...

We also found the tomb of an unnamed soldier and the biggest, coolest door and I have no idea what it goes to!

Philly!

.

Here is a little taste of one of our trips to the city of Philadelphia. We only live about thirty minutes away and there is so much to see. We went to "love park" and watched all the gangster kids skateboard for a while (this was my favorite part!). We also went to Independence Hall, saw the liberty bell, ran up the "rocky" steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
and David got a little sassy with the camera crew!

Our Nauvoo visit along the drive cross-country

Since we were already driving so far, we decided to make a stop along the way in Nauvoo, IL and it was SO COOL!! We didn't realize that Nauvoo is where all the elderly couples go to serve missions! They are all dressed up in the period clothing and tell you stories about each of the historical homes and buildings. We definitely did not have enough time to do it justice. Two of our favorite things were going to the Carthage Jail and feeling the spirit so strong where the prophet Joseph Smith was martyred, and walking down Parley Street where the saints walked to ferry across the river into Iowa as they were being persecuted. They have posted testimonials of the saints every fifteen feet along the path and it is so cool!

Brittany's Graduation!

I officially graduate from BYU with a BFA in Illustration in August, but we celebrated slightly early...

My mom and Mark flew out and everything!
