Three years and going strong...

Can you believe that David and I have been married for 3 years now?? Wow, that went by so fast! We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary (May 4th) yesterday by renting a canoe and going on a nice little boat ride on the lake by our house. We got to relax in the sun and pop open some bubbly as we toasted to another 75 years of blissful marriage. Getting Married=best decision of my life! I love you babe.

Happy Mother's Day...my first official experience!

Happy Mother's Day to all those mom's out there and also to those mom's to be! This morning I woke up to breakfast in bed - hashbrowns, eggs, strawberries, oranges...the works - and sitting next to my meal was an adorable little onesie for little Coleman to wear in just under 7 weeks! David is such a good man and will make an incredible dad. How did I get to be so lucky??

The Book of Mormon/YouTube Challenge

This video is amazing!! Take the challenge and let's make this inspiring video reach as far as we can.

On May 3, 2010 - If all who see this message will follow the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkKblIMfmjI and watch the YouTube video of Jeffrey R. Holland bearing testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, we could potentially achieve promoting that video to the YouTube homepage, based on volume of views.

TIPS ON HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS:

1 increased views - multiples views by one viewer count
2 comments - the more comments, the more valuable Youtube sees your video. Comments almost carry as much weight as views.
3 favorites - everyone needs to "favorite" the video.
4 thumbs up - **please take special care to do this as a group of individuals have banned together to "thumbs down" and this can negatively affect the popularity of the video.
5 subscriptions - daily subscriptions have a major impact on popularity. This also has longterm impact on the future videos coming to the channel because they will get emails from Youtube letting them know when MormonMessages posts new stuff.
6 reshare - post the video as a link on your profiles bearing testimony, and also make comments after friends' link so that it shows up in the news feeds, post to blogs and twitter. The more activity surrounding the video the more attention it will receive.

It was fun while it lasted...

David's swim season is officially over since we just went to his end of the year banquet and guess who received one of the four prestigious awards handed out to the men on the team...none other than my husband! The coach thought it was pretty impressive that after asking him to return to the team after a two year break, he was able to whip himself back into shape and beat his season and personal best times ever! Way to go David, you are such a rockstar! When I grow up, I want to be just like David Scott because he amazes and impresses me every single day!

I've been showered....twice!!

I have been so blessed by so many people who love me. How did I get to be so lucky? Traci Sheen, the professional event planner, threw me a spectacular baby shower in my backyard and she even convinced the sun to make a surprise appearance just for the shower! She went all out decking it out with hand crafted decorations, table runners, food, and everything in between. It was definitely a hit and I felt so blessed to have a friend go to so much trouble, but to also have so many other friends show up to support me. Thanks to everyone who helped out, who came and made it a success and thank you thank you for all of the thoughtful gifts! Can you believe how lucky I am - my mom even flew out from California just for the shower!

Then just two weeks later, my boss' wife and a friend of mine on his team threw me another shower at work! They invited the entire office, which was slightly intimidating, but it turned out great and we had so much fun! They decorated the conference room so cute with hanging onesies from a clothes line, fun little baby decorations, and awesome food. Nobody can forget to mention the AMAZING cupcakes that Emily had special ordered from Dippidee Bakery in American Fork and she even broke her no sugar all year goal to try a cupcake or two. They were de-lish! Thanks for all the love and support - I have the best friends!

31 Weeks and flying by!!

Is it just me, or has this whole pregnancy thing sort of flown by? This picture was taken at 31 weeks, but I am now almost 32 weeks and that means I only have 8 WEEKS LEFT before the baby comes...and that's counting on him coming on my due date!! Yikes! Lately I have been getting a lot of comments from people that I look too small to be 7 months pregnant, I guess that's a good thing, right? Well either way our little guy is kicking and moving like crazy, so I'm not worried that he's healthy in there. :) My doctor said most babies sleep for 18 hours a day during pregnancy, but I can testify that baby Scott is awake at least every 10 minutes moving around and is probably going to run circles around me when he comes out.

Coming together

Since I listen to past general conference talks when I paint, I thought this weekend would be a perfect opportunity to get a lot done on my painting as well as make the most out of listening to conference. 16 hours later here are the results. I think it's coming along nicely, what about you?

Happy Easter

This Easter to our surprise we woke up to 3 inches of snow. Kinda like a mean April fools joke if you ask me. Rather than pout, we decided to make a family of snowmen. I hope your Easter was as enjoyable as ours.

We looked outside to see how well our snowmen were holding up at around 3 pm THE SAME DAY and this is what we saw! Spring is definitely here, even if it is sometimes pushed aside by the snow for a few hours.

Lucky

How did I get to be so lucky? My husband is incredible and I am reminded of what a blessing he is in my life EVERYDAY!!!

Two weeks ago I got to cheer him on in Oklahoma City, OK for the Mountain West Conference Championships for swimming and it was incredible! I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Not only was it so fun, but David did AMAZING! He swam season best times in every event, which was expected, but he ALSO swam LIFETIME BESTS in every event - not bad for taking two years off (four total if you include his mission) and still coming back after only a year and rocking the house! He sure went out with a bang and couldn't have asked for a better finish!

25 Weeks and counting...

And it just keeps growing! After a 2 month lull I am back on track and our little boy is growing like crazy (or at least my belly seems to be:) ) So I am almost 6 months pregnant and finally not fitting into my pants/skirts unzipped anymore, I tried to force it at church today, but probably shouldn't have. Yikes. I'm still not HUGE, which I am SO GRATEFUL for, and I am finding I have more energy and a greater desire to do things. I enjoy cooking and baking again and have been trying to take some of the load off David, who has patiently prepared 98% of our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the past 6 months at least. He still cooks most of our meals since he gets home earlier than I do, but I have been trying to help out when I can. I imagine this energy won't last very long, so I'm trying to make use of it but either way...I FEEL GREAT!!

Portrait Update Part II

I've been busy at work trying to finish my brother-in-law's family portrait and I'm getting pretty addicted to painting again. David would probably say that I'm pretty boring right now because all I ever want to do every Saturday is paint. :) Hopefully I can finish it this month and stop spending my Saturdays in solitude and spend a little more time with Dave. Spring is coming and it will be hard to stay indoors with such tempting weather outside! I hope I can make it, wish me luck!

New Hair Cut

Brittany cut my hair the other day. It had been a while since my last trim, and since then my hair had become surprisingly lighter due to all the chlorine in the BYU pool. Here's a before and after shot.
